About Event
Every practitioner has had the same moment. A client forwards a notice late at night — a 143(2), a 148A, or a 133(6) asking about a transaction from four years ago — with one question attached: “Sir, ab kya hoga?”
You know the section. You have read it. But knowing the section and knowing what to actually write in the reply are two entirely different skills — and the second one is the one nobody teaches.
This masterclass teaches the second one. 90 Minutes, live, working through real notices on screen. Not slides about notices. The actual document, the actual questionnaire, and the actual reply being drafted paragraph by paragraph, with the reasoning explained as it is written.
We also do something almost nobody in the market is doing yet. The Income Tax Act, 2025 has been in force since 1 April 2026. The notices arriving on your desk right now carry section numbers you have never argued before, and the case law you rely on was decided under a statute that no longer applies in the same form. In this session you get the litigation-relevant section mapping between the 1961 Act and the 2025 Act — assessment, reassessment, penalty, appeals — so you know exactly which provision governs your client’s matter, whichever law it falls under.
By the end of three hours you will not be memorising sections. You will be reading notices the way the assessing officer expects a litigator to read them, and drafting replies that are built to survive the next stage.
Note: your main course page still describes the Act 2025 as “effective from 1 April 2026” in the future tense. As of today it is already in force. Update that page too — present tense is a far stronger hook and it is the accurate position.
Template has exactly 3 slots
- Read any notice correctly — separate what the department is asking for from what it is fishing for
- Draft a structured reply — grounds, facts, evidence and case law, in the order that actually works
- Find the defence before the merits — limitation, jurisdiction, sanction and natural justice, where most matters are genuinely won
How To Attend
- This is a live online session. There is no venue to travel to.
- Delivered live on Zoom. The joining link is sent by email and WhatsApp 24 hours before, and again 30 minutes before the session.
- You will need a laptop or desktop. We will be reading notices on screen, and the detail does not survive a phone.

- Bring a notice. In the final 30 minutes you can put your own matter, with client details masked, to the floor.

Speaker
Arjun Mittal
Founder & CEO — Tax Advisory
Arjun Mittal is a practising tax professional who handles assessment, penalty and appellate matters as day-to-day work rather than as theory. He leads Tax Advisory, a firm of 50+ CAs, CS and advocates serving clients across India, and teaches on the Tax Advisory YouTube channel, where thousands of practitioners have learnt tax practically. This session is built entirely from matters that have crossed his desk.
Who This Is For
- Chartered Accountants who file returns confidently but forward every notice to someone else
- Advocates and tax practitioners moving into direct-tax litigation
- CA Final students and articles who want the one skill that gets them hired over everyone else
- Accountants and consultants who have a notice sitting on their desk right now and no idea how to begin
Who this is not for: anyone looking for a section-by-section reading of the entire Income Tax Act. This is a litigation session. We cover only what appears in notices, assessments, penalties and appeals.
Keep that last line. Disqualifying the wrong buyer publicly is one of the strongest trust signals a page can carry, and it cuts refund requests.
Agenda
| 00:00 – 00:25 | The anatomy of a notice. What to read first, and why most replies fail in their opening paragraph. |
| 00:25 – 01:00 | Scrutiny under 143(2) read with 144B faceless assessment. Live walkthrough of a real departmental questionnaire and the reply drafted against it. |
| 01:00 – 01:35 | The reassessment trap: 148A, limitation under 149, and sanction under 151. Where the department slips, and how to put it on record. |
| 01:35 – 02:05 | Penalty under 270A. Moving misreporting to under-reporting, and the 270AA immunity application most practitioners never file. |
| 02:05 – 02:30 | Old Act to New Act. The litigation section-mapping sheet, explained and handed over. |
| 02:30 – 03:00 | Live Q&A. Bring your own notice, masked. |

FAQ
Is this the same as your full Income Tax Litigation Mastery course?
No. The full course runs 20 hours across 30 lessons and covers the complete lifecycle to CIT(A) with case studies. This is a live three-hour intensive on the highest-impact parts. Your ₹499 is adjustable against the full course if you enrol within 7 days of the session.
I have never handled a notice. Will this be over my head?
No. We start from how to read a notice. If you understand how an assessment works, you can follow this.
Will I get a recording?
[See the recommendation on the last page before answering this one.]
Will it be in Hindi or English?
Both. Explanation in Hindi, technical terms and drafting in English — the way it works in practice.
Can I ask about my own client’s matter?
Yes, in the final 30 minutes. Mask all client details. We discuss the position and the approach; we do not review documents individually during the session.
Do I get a certificate?
No. This is a working session, not a certification programme.
Disclaimer:
This session is educational in nature and does not constitute legal or professional advice. Outcomes in any matter depend on its own facts, evidence and the applicable law. Case discussions are illustrative and all client details are masked.
